Sette

Filed under: Restaurant Reviews — Liz @ 1:08 pm

As mentioned in a previous post, we all went to Sette last Saturday for drinks and dinner.  The best part about Sette (to me) is that it is one of the few restaurants within relatively close distance to our house.  Sette primarily serves brick oven pizzas, but also has some sandwiches and salads.  I’ve eaten there several times and usually have a pizza (although I had a sandwich once and, as I recall, it was pretty good).

On Saturday night, I had the mushroom pizza.  It had about 4 different types of mushrooms, both goat and mozzerella cheeses, and sun-dried tomatoes on top of a thin yet substantial crust.  These flavors mixed really well, and I strived to get a little taste of each one in every bite.  The pizzas are baked well and I think the brick oven helps ensure a good flavor.

I also had 2 “Sun Sette-inis” (aka martinis) while there.  I really like these martinis (they have a little sour mix in them and a sugar-coated rim – very delicious), although the ones I had Saturday night were not as good as ones I have imbibed in the past.  If you are thinking of going to Sette, try to go on a Thursday night, as it is half-off martini night (they have about 10 different martinis on their menu).  Sette also has beer and wine (not much beer on tap, but I did enjoy a few Sierra Nevadas Saturday night as well).

The atmosphere has always been smoke-free when I have been there, although I am not sure if this is a restaurant policy or just because it is a relatively small space that is mostly a restaurant and not a bar.  There is an outside patio section, but I have not visited it yet.  I don’t find the interior decor very cosy or inviting (it is a bit industrial looking – lots of metal), but it is always clean.  I’ll give Sette 4 out of 5 stars – it is good for the pizza, so go for that.
